From almost anywhere you are staying on Maui traveling to Hana will be an all day adventure.

If you leave very early in the morning, which is recommended, you should be able to enjoy Haleakala and get back in the early afternoon.

It will probably take around 45 minutes to one hour with normal traffic.

The mornings and evenings can be very cold and breezy. Temperatures in the 40's °F (less than 10 °C) can be reached.
